The epididymis is the organ with an elongated shape. It is attached to the near end of the testes, and is measuring for about 5.5 meters long, although its length could not be recognized due to its coiled feature. This part of the male reproductive organ keeps the sperm cells safe until its final stage of maturation- that is, the maturation of the tail.

Its head is known for its expanded portion that is clearly visible, and its body slowly fades out as it advances to the mid-section. The tail of the epididymis continues from the beginning of the ductus deferens. These sections are responsible for the storage of the maturing sperm cells until they are ready for ejaculation.

Normally, it takes 8 weeks for the male body to make mature sperm cells.
