General Information

Abana is a medication made from herbs that aids in reducing the heart's sensitivity to adrenergic stimulation. It is made possible by exerting a positive inotropic action, increasing the heart's ability to contract and thus, protecting the heart from cardiac neurosis.


Abana is made of ingredients with heart tonic properties such as arjuna, calmint, chebulic myrobalan, Indian gooseberry, gulnchatinospora, licorice, asparagus, thistles, mineral pitch, Indian  bedellium, spreading hogweed, bind weed, holy basil, Indian pennywort, Indian long pepper, musk root, Bishop's weed, nut grass, Calx serpentine, clove, nut grass, staff tree, white sandalwood, cardamom, Persian rose, fennel, cinnamomum, processed pearl (biotite calx), processed agate, processed ruby and saffron.

Ruby and jade are two precious gems, which when processed are known to tone the heart and relieve it from palpitation. On the other hand, processed agate contains Rasna, a component having analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties, which makes it possible to treat arthritis and rheumatism. Processed pearl is known to help regenerate cells, and could also treat anemia and respiratory tract infections. This ingredient has traces of iron, calcium, potassiom, magnesium and aluminium.

Another component of Abana called Calx surpentine (made from processed magnesium silicated), helps decrease palpitation and increase strength of the heart muscles. It is also known to relieve muscle cramps and reduce anxiousness and irritability. It also contains calmint which contains triterpenoid aldehyde nephinal and terpenoids in high doses, which could treat angina pectoris, cardiac trombosis, trachycardia, cardiac asthma and also helps relieve pyrexia and anxiety. It also contains saffron which helps hasten menstrual flow and sedate the nerves in the body. Arjuana bark, on the other hand is for hypertension and ischemic diseases, thus treating any irregular cardiac rhythm and myocardial infarction too.

Side Effects, Precautions and Prescribed Dosage

Since Abana came from natural ingredients, it does not have any reported side effects. Anyone wanting to use this product could buy it over the counter. However, it is always best to consult the doctor before using this medication to be given the right dosage and time frame of use. But as a general guide, most patients drink this herbal medication 2 to 3 times a day with warm water. Taking two doses at a time is highly discouraged, even if one dose is missed.

Pregnant and nursing women should consult the doctor before trying to take this medicine.
